Knee-Highs and November Skies

I love, love, love this 1960′s coat. It is one of my favorite vintage pieces that I own. I adore this type of coat because of it’s duel functionality as it almost acts like a dress as well. The pleating detail and white buttons with white trim. It speaks for itself and doesn’t need much else. Except maybe a slight bouffant and some knee-highs to match! Peachy Keen

I just received this 1960′s peach geometric print dress in the mail yesterday from the dearest and darling little shop Vagabondia Vintage (link on the right sidebar). I couldn’t wait to wear it! I wanted to transition it a little more for fall so I added the copper silk scarf and some chocolate brown tights. I also recently acquired the most comfortable ballet flats in the world from LuLu’s dot com. If you haven’t checked out their website you should for sure! Super cute and affordable lovelies! Now, I am... Read The Rest →

An apple a day…

20121016-091407.jpg

I am in love with the print of this dress. I found it at Buffalo Exchange a few weeks ago and was oh so excited to do an outfit post with it! It was originally longer but I felt the print was so fun and flirty that the hem needed to be taken up a bit! Paired it with navy blue and even though the outfit is a bit matchy, matchy, I feel like sometimes that’s okay. I also thought it would be fun to try out the ‘hair bow.’... Read The Rest →

Powder Blue Sequins and Fresh-Picked Flowers

20121008-100406.jpg

I included this blouse awhile back in one of my 5 LP Lovelies when I reviewed our Mickey and Sylvia record. After that I couldn’t stop thinking about it and eventually had to have it to wear for Jeremiah’s birthday party. That night I paired it with black skinny jeans and red vintage heels, but for today’s outfit post I felt like dressing it up a bit for something pretty. Added some cream lace socks to give it a slightly more fall feel and matched my lips with the skirt... Read The Rest →

Round Hats and Square Roots

20121001-091324.jpg

A friend of mine gave me this amazing vintage blouse with tiny mathematical equations all over it. And although math was my least favorite subject in school, I have no problem struttin my stuff with it printed all over as long as I don’t have to solve anything. Topping it off with a hat always makes things more fun and I couldn’t leave without my new (THRIFTED) Marc by Marc Jacobs bag. Yes, that’s right…it was the find of my lifetime and in mint condition and I think I am... Read The Rest →

Vintage Mixology

20120918-102520.jpg

I love the sophistication, yet playfulness of this 1970′s dress. It is sophisticated in its silhouette with the necktie and pleats but adds the playful charm with the two patterns and all the colors. Wanting to match its texture, I paired it with some fab 1960′s faux snakeskin bow heels and wore my hair up in a crown braid to keep things feminine but to also show off the neckline. I also added the skinny belt to break up the dress just a bit. FYI- you can purchase both the... Read The Rest →

Guest Blog for Ave Styles

20120907-123701.jpg

A few weeks ago I was asked by my dear and extremely talented friend and stylist, Alex of Ave Styles, if I would contribute to her blog while she is away bonding with her brand new, beautiful baby girl. I was honored and of course said yes. So, I did a sort of ‘Fall Picks’ with a collection of pretty vintage-inspired clothes and accessories to get you through these long-anticipated and upcoming colder months. You can check it out here. And while you’re at it, check out Alex’s page and... Read The Rest →

Big Hair and Mini Skirts

20120903-090746.jpg

I am definitely transitioning into fall mode even though the weather may not be quite yet. I recently acquired this textured mini skirt from a dear friend and I can’t get enough of it. Most of my vintage these days falls below my knees, so it always brings out an extra fun and playful (and maybe a little sassy) side of me when I wear something a tad shorter. I paired it with a thin, basic sweater, and my go-to beige t-straps. When it actually gets cold, I’ll probably add... Read The Rest →
